About the Artist

Hello Friends, my name is Liesa Allen. I am the creator and owner of Liesa Allen Art and Liesa's Pretty Little Things on Facebook. Art came to me easily as a child, but I didn't know I had a gift until the third grade! We had an assignment to draw a map of the United States. I did mine and my best friends and a few others and then I complained to my friend asking why they couldn't draw their own. She replied, "Liesa we can't". Through the years I earned two art degrees and a minor in drawing. Although, I had to work at other jobs to make a living I never abandoned art. At thirty I taught myself to paint in watercolor. My work consists of watercolor portraits of people, fur babies, flowers, houses, buildings and greeting cards. I also do pen and ink drawings of abandoned houses and barns, sometimes mixing it with watercolor. I use acrylics to paint objects such as chairs, step stools for children and all manner of crafts. This past year I incorporated sublimation and have enjoyed putting my work on T shirts, tea towels, cups, garden flags and accent pillows and working in pastels to create fur baby portraits.
